Posts editing feature finally makes it to Facebook

How many times has it happened that you have posted something on Facebook and had to delete the entire thing because you ended up making a typo or a mistake in it? We are guessing quite a number of times. But now that the social networking website has introduced the editing feature, you will never end up losing your posts and conversation threads because of a silly mistake.

The option of editing comments was added to the social network a while ago and it is also possible for members of the website to modify the text punched in for a photo post. But the latest developments will allow them to remove typos or grammatical errors from their status updates, shared links and more. The tab to allow editing is placed in the drop down menu which appears as soon as you click the down arrow. Click on ‘done editing’ tab as Spencer Chen’s picture here shows.

Facebook Editing

Although the editing feature was partially available, Facebook doesn’t let you get away with your mistakes so easily. It saves the editing history and makes it available for everyone to see. According to TechCrunch, the new feature could make it very simple for users to change their posts to something completely opposite to what they said earlier. And apparently, Zuckerberg and company did not exactly want users to do a 180-degree on their posts which compelled them to not make it public until now. But the presence of editing history should be enough to discourage users.

The editing feature for posts is currently available for the web version of Facebook and for the official Android application. It will come to iOS very soon.
