PlayFirst has recently attained a remarkable target of 5 million game downloads on mobile handsets worldwide. These figures do not include iPhone download numbers. PlayFirst has managed to achieve these significant numbers, thanks to the success of the mobile versions of PlayFirst’s popular Dash games series and its new innovative game titles for the mobile market.

This news has come to light as the gaming industry reaches its summer peak cycle during which mobile game purchases increase. Gaming titles from PlayFirst are available across various popular gaming platforms. The increasing penetration of smartphones in the market has helped increase the user base of the mobile market which has been beneficial for PlayFirst. They continue to work with developers and mobile partners to deliver game titles that are tailored specifically for players on the go.

“Glu has seen tremendous success from the Diner Dash franchise on mobile handsets, as casual games are a natural fit for the mobile platform,” remarked Jill Braff, senior vice president of global publishing, Glu Mobile. “With over 5 million downloads, it is clear that fans are excited to be playing their favorite PlayFirst games on-the-go.”

PlayFirst and Glu Mobile have formed a partnership since 2005 in order to distribute its games on mobile platforms. Additionally, scores of partnerships have been formed between PlayFirst and other industry partners for the same.

Out of all the mobile game downloads from PlayFirst, the Dash series which was introduced to the mobile handset market in 2006 is the most popular one. It started off with the launch of Diner Dash which featured Flo, PlayFirst’s iconic game character and virtual restaurateur. Following its success, Wedding Dash, Doggie Dash and Diner Dash 2: Restaurant Rescue were launched. In addition to these, there are other mobile titles such as Zenerchi and Chocolatier.
