Pinball Arcade game to make its iOS and Android debut today

Pinball Arcade

The classic game dubbed Pinball Arcade, is all set to be launched for the iOS and Android mobile platforms today. This title could arouse nostalgic feelings for avid gamers who remember playing it on their PC at video game arcades much before the smartphone and tablet age took over.

Scheduled to be available for the iPhone, iPad and Android smartphones and tablets, the game features licensed pinball tables from Williams, Gottlieb, Stern and Bally. Initially, gamers would be able to access four tables at the time of launch which include Black Hole, Tales of the Arabian Nights, Ripley’s Believe It or Not and Theatre of Magic.

“With the licenses we’re acquiring, we’ll be able to re-create nearly all of the highest-ranked tables in pinball history. Our goal is to make The Pinball Arcade the definitive pinball game franchise of all time! We are building an online community of virtual pinball players using shared leaderboards, friends leaderboards, and coming later this year, head-to-head online play modes and cross platform tournaments. All tables are recreated and played in stunning 3D, presented as photo-realistically as possible, and played on the most advanced pinball physics engine ever developed. The gameplay, visuals and sound effects are all authentic,” stated Bobby King, FarSight’s Director of Development and Lead Designer of The Pinball Arcade.

Created by FarSight Studios, this title will provide users with two new pinball tables every month, which would then be added to the lineup. Furthermore, players will be allowed to sample free versions of each release. All tables come with their individual in-depth tutorials for teaching players the important rules and skills needed to achieve excellence in the game. Although users can play casually, they could even compete to qualify for an online Pinball tournament.

The Pinball Arcade game would be available for download starting today from the App Store and the Android Market.
