The Xolo Omega 5.5 and Xiaomi Redmi Note are two of the newest phablets to arrive in India with specs and prices so similar, you’re likely to be confused about which one you’d like to lay your hands on. And if you want to support Xolo since it’s a homegrown brand, but would like to know what you may or may not be missing out on, here’s the place to be.
The Xolo Omega 5.5 and the Xiaomi Redmi Note embed octa core processors, although the latter’s chip is clocked at a slightly quicker rate of 1.7GHz. Both phones carry 5.5-inch IPS screens of 720p resolution, two SIM card slots, 8GB ROM, 13MP rear cameras and 32GB memory expandability.
But the Xolo handset beats the Xiaomi device in the looks department and by the fact that it is powered by KitKat layered with the Hive UI. On the other side, the Redmi Note gets its kicks from Jelly Bean (which is an older version of Android, of course) mingled with MIUI V5 software.
