Octa core Panasonic P81 coming soon, bringing swappable cases too

The octa core Panasonic P81 smartphone has been teased once again through a video on YouTube and this time around we’ve got one more bit of information about the phone’s specs. The device will be launched within the next two weeks for sure, this much we know owing to the company’s previous teaser images which indicate that it will be unveiled for India in May.

Panasonic has also revealed that the handset will embed an octa core processor, probably from MediaTek. The Panasonic P81 will obviously run on Android, though it still remains to be seen whether this will be the latest version of the OS, which is KitKat, or an earlier build like Jelly Bean. Because an 8-core chipset does not guarantee KitKat onboard as you saw with the Wickedleak Wammy Titan 3 Octa and iBerry Auxus Nuclea X.

Another detail which has been given up voluntarily by Panasonic is the fact that the handset will feature changeable back covers in a vibrant range of colors just like the Moto G offered. A ‘switch’ to let users move between apps conveniently also seems to be on the menu. We’re expecting the device to stay within the Rs 25000 mark, unless the company has truly stuffed it with noteworthy specs.

The Panasonic P81 will have all sorts of octa core alternatives from smaller brands to compete with in India. Apart from the Titan 3 Octa and Auxus Nuclea X, there’s also the Gionee Elife S5.5, Micromax Canvas Knight, Intex Aqua Octa and Karbonn Octane series which have been unveiled.
