The Panasonic P55 has made its debut in India as the company’s latest phablet offering and at a very attractive price of Rs 10290. The device is a mid-range release and it comes bundled with various software enhancements that are exclusive from the OEM.
Like the P81 handset, the Panasonic P55 comes with a 5.5-inch 720p HD IPS display. However, its processing power has been cut by half owing to the low price tag. The device features a 1.2GHz quad core CPU which we’re presuming is from MediaTek, while the former has a 1.7GHz octa core chip.
The display is surrounded by a well-designed body where the rear panel has a unique texture which we haven’t see on any other handset till date. It’s pretty slim at 7.9mm and lightweight as well, at 148gm. Dual cameras are also part of the exteriors, with the front showing off a 2MP snapper and the rear, an 8MP shooter with LED flash.
On the inside, the handset features 1GB RAM, 4GB storage, dual SIM slots and 3G support. The battery is rated at 2500mAh and it is user-replaceable. Android 4.4 KitKat is what drives the Panasonic smartphone and it comes bundled with various features from the OEM. They include Gesture Play, Pop-i Player and Music Cafe amongst others.
