Ideas, concepts and strategies often dry up those grey cells. However, the effort is completely worth if the product is an absolute hit. Pulling out a fresh sheath this year, the company introduces the Reflex series at the CES.

In the initial phase, it will be available for the iPhone 4 as well as the BlackBerry Bold Curve 8500 and 9300 series. This case has been designed by amalgamating polycarbonate and TPE rubber into a single stratum. Inspired from the crumple zone of a car, the company claims that the sheath will take the impact, recoil and then spring back. It protects the smartphone within by taking the brunt of all the drops, dings and bumps.

“There are several elements of the OtterBox Reflex series case that go against traditional theories of design, tooling and manufacturing,” asserted Curt Richardson, OtterBox founder and CEO. “We are pushing our limits to redefine how tech protection looks and functions.”

The Reflex series case imbibes a cushion of air that encompasses the phone. On impact, this layer of air lets the cover flex and return to its original form. Allowing handset owners to effortlessly dock the smartphone, the encasing can be split into two halves. A self-adhering screen protector has been included to safeguard the display from scratches.
