Oppo’s Realme 1 hits India with 18:9 display, 6GB RAM

Oppo has launched a brand new sub-brand called the Realme in India, calling the first phone to come out of the series as the Realme 1. The lineup is being marketed as a premium mid-range smartphone brand, with devices ranging from Rs 10000 to Rs 20000.

The Realme 1 is priced at a very affordable Rs 8990 for its 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM option. The figure goes up to Rs 10990 for the 4GB of RAM and 64GB of ROM variant. The top-end version costs Rs 13990 and provides 6GB of RAM and 128GB of ROM, not bad for a phone under Rs 15000.

Oppo is hoping to take on Xiaomi with its new Realme sub-brand, offering a similar mix of solid specs at a low rate. It’s designed the black edition’s back to look like diamonds, although the body itself is made out of fiber glass. The front sports an 18:9 aspect ratio, measures 6-inch diagonally, and features a FHD+ resolution.
