Oppo R9, R9 Plus coming to India on April 5

The Oppo R9 and R9 Plus are all set to land in India on April 5, with the company issuing out media invites for a Camera Phone launch event on that date. However, it’s not certain whether the brand is unveiling both smartphones in the country at the occasion.

The arrival of the Oppo R9 and R9 Plus in India comes just a few weeks after the two were outed in China. The devices apparently sold 180000 units on its first day of availability there. The company is likely hoping to replicate this in the subcontinent. It’s already started its promotional blitzkrieg for the handset here.

The unit is accompanied by an aperture of f/2.0 and a 78.1-degree wide-angle lens. As for the second, the sensor apparently unlocks the device within 0.2 seconds.

The dual-SIM R9 and R9 Plus sport a similar design language and are differentiated mainly in terms of specs. The former sports a 5.5-inch 1080p AMOLED screen, 64GB of expandable ROM, an octa-core 2GHz MediaTek Helio P10 processor, 2850mAh battery, and a 13MP rear snapper.
