Oppo R7 Plus, R7 Lite officially launched in India

The Oppo R7 Plus and R7 Lite have been launched in India, a few months after the former was unveiled in China. The first will be available starting from September 25 for Rs 29990, while the second is set to hit markets on September 10 priced at Rs 17990.

Kicking things off with the 4G-ready Oppo R7 Plus, the smartphone has a massive 6-inch 1080p AMOLED screen and a fingerprint scanner on its back. It’s powered by an octa-core 64-bit Snapdragon 615 MSM8939 processor, with four 1.5GHz cores and four 1GHz ones. The phone contains 3GB of RAM and 32GB of ROM, expandable up to 128GB.

The R7 Plus packs a 4100mAh battery equipped with VOOC flash charging technology. It’s supposed to survive for two hours of talk time after only 5 minutes of charging. It can further gain up to 75% of power within 30 minutes. The handset carries a 13MP laser autofocus main camera with ISOCELL sensor technology and an aperture of f/2.2.

The company claims the rear lens can come to life within 0.7 seconds and requires just 0.1 seconds to focus. Also on board is an 8MP front-facing snapper for selfies and video calls. The full-metal Oppo device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with a layer of ColorOS 2.1 UI, measures 158 x 82 x 7.75mm, and weighs 182g.

The R7 Lite has a lot of specs in common with its more expensive variant. The main differences lie in its 5-inch 720p AMOLED display, 16GB of ROM, 2GB of RAM, and 2320mAh battery. The handset measures 143 x 71 x 6.3mm and weighs a lighter 147g. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB 2.0 and GPS.

The Oppo R7 Plus can be bought only in a gold color, while the R7 Lite will be up for sale in gold and silver. Once again, the former costs Rs 29990 and the latter is valued at Rs 17990.
