Fans across India are all set to be treated to the ultra-thin Oppo R5 smartphone which is scheduled to be released in the country sometime before the end of this year. The Chinese company has revealed that its price will be set somewhere between Rs 25000 and Rs 30000.
On Monday, we’re also supposed to witness the launch of the Vivo X5 Max which is currently the world’s thinnest smartphone, owing to its 4.75mm slim body. Prior to the unveiling of this device, it was the Oppo R5 which used to carry that distinct title, thanks to its slightly thicker body of 4.85mm.
The Oppo handset kicks in a 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display which showcases its visuals in 1080 full HD resolution. Powering it from within is a 1.5GHz octa core Snapdragon 615 processor with its 64-bit architecture. While 2GB worth of RAM has been granted to it, there’s 16GB of storage to be exploited as well.
Within that extremely thin chassis of the R5 rests a 13MP camera module that lets you click pictures using the rear lens. On its front moreover, this phone bears a 5MP snapper. A 2000mAh battery has been placed inside its body to keep it going in between charges.
Here’s a neat look at the specs of the Oppo R5:
– Display: 5.2-inch Super AMOLED, 1080p full HD
– OS: Android 4.4 KitKat
– Processor: 1.5GHz octa core Snapdragon 615
– Memory: 2GB RAM, 16GB storage
– Camera: 5MP front, 13MP rear
– Weight: 155gms
– Dimensions: 148.9mm x 74.5mm x 4.85mm
Like we said, the Oppo R5 is ready to give competition to the Vivo X5 Max, with the former’s retail value set somewhere between Rs 25000 and Rs 30000.
