Oppo Joy Dual-SIM smartphone unveiled in India for Rs 8990

A brand new Oppo Joy has hit the low end Android smartphone market in India with a price tag of Rs 8990 attached to it. We don’t get to say this very often, but a glance at the specifications list will show you that the phone has a cost to match the features it promises to offer users.

This Oppo handset is a very basic device which looks quite nondescript and its adds to the company’s portfolio of devices for India that will consist of the Oppo Find 5, the upcoming Oppo Find 7, the Oppo Neo, the Oppo N1 and the Oppo R1. With the latest smartphone, the Chinese brand has all its bases covered starting from budget-conscious customers to those with more cash to spare.

The phone works on Android Jelly Bean flavored by the company’s proprietary ColorOS user interface. It should offer a cozy fit in the palm owing to the smallish (by today’s standards) screen taking up space on the front panel along with a 0.3MP webcam.

Dual SIM card slots hide under the hood and you get 3G network support as well as Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. A 1.3GHz dual core chipset, possibly from MediaTek, 512MB RAM, 4GB of internal storage space and 32GB expandability are on offer too.
