Is the Oplus XonPad 7 worth its price?

The name Oplus XonPad 7 might sound unfamiliar to Indian buyers because this is the company’s first tablet meant for the Indian market. Released in partnership with Snapdeal, the device features a 7-inch display and quad core processing power, and is available to purchase now through the aforementioned e-retailer.

But is it worth the Rs 9,990 price it commands? The XonPad 7 is voice calling enabled, but it features just one SIM card slot. It runs the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS, and grabs hold of 5MP main and 2MP front cameras. So far so good for a budget Android tablet, we think.

The device doesn’t look anything more than plain and boring in terms of appearance. Its 7-inch display throws out visuals in a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. Sized at 115mm x 9.7mm x 189mm, it tips the scales at 310 grams.

1GB worth of DDR3 memory has been granted to the Oplus XonPad 7, apart from 16GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot for further expansion of up to 32GB. A 1.2GHz Cortex A7 quad core chipset carries out the processing duties for this slate.

These are specifications you’d probably expect to find in a budget smartphone too. A 3500mAh battery forms part of its offerings as well. Apart from 3G, its other connectivity options include Wi-Fi, USB 2.0 and Bluetooth. All in all, nothing special about it.

If you’re interested in purchasing the Oplus XonPad 7, you can head over to Snapdeal to place your order.
