OnePlus One headed to India as an Amazon exclusive, still invite only

The OnePlus One phone is all set to make its debut in India and it has been revealed that online retailer Amazon, will be in charge of offering the handset to potential customers. The e-commerce website has put up a teaser page titled ‘the most awaited smartphone coming soon’ with an image of the device’s rear panel.

There’s no mention of the OnePlus One on the website, but if you need more convincing, Amazon is running a Twitter contest called ‘TheOneThing’ where winners will be given 2 gift cards worth Rs 5000 each for shopping on the portal. Of course, the OEM is yet to confirm this information, but it shouldn’t be long before official word gets out.

Now that the retail partner is more or less confirmed, the next step to getting your hands on the One smartphone is by acquiring an India only invite. And the only way to get one is by taking part in the company’s #NeverSettle contest on the official forum where you need to post a picture of yourself holding a statement based on the hashtag.

100 winners will be picked and awarded an invite to purchase the phone when it launches next month. There will be many other opportunities in the future to get an invite, so make sure you stay tuned to the company’s forums and social network channels.
