Chinese smartphone maker’s flagship OnePlus One to launch in India on December 2

The OnePlus One everyone seems to be talking about, has been confirmed for launch exclusively on Amazon India and the unofficial word is that the self-declared ‘flagship killer’ will be available starting from December 2 onwards. Coincidence or not, that’s the same day Xiaomi’s Redmi Note makes its debut in the country, forcing tougher competition on the smartphone.

As you probably know, you’ll need an India-specific invite to purchase the OnePlus One. The company already started a contest through which it was giving out 100 invites to winners. And if you missed out on the opportunity, here’s how you can stay updated on new events and promos.

The dedicated Amazon web page for the smartphone will allow you to register for alerts for upcoming contests. You basically need to subscribe to OnePlus newsletters, participate in India-specific events and hope for an email with the invite, if you’re lucky.

On receiving one, you’ll get a unique link which will take you straight to the Amazon website to purchase the OnePlus handset. Do note that invites will only be valid for 48 hours. The next opportunity for you to get your hands on an invite is the ‘One in a 1000’ treasure hunt through which 1000 winners will get to order the smartphone.

Here’s a quick look at what the OnePlus One offers in specifications:

– Android 4.4 KitKat (based on CyanogenMod, upgradable to Lollipop)
