OnePlus 3 ad reveals cost, specs before launch

The launch of the OnePlus 3 is only a few hours away now, but someone’s faux pas has resulted in an ad for the handset getting published in an English newspaper in India ahead of its launch. The blunder will probably take the sheen off the brand’s grand VR unveiling on June 14 at 10pm IST, since a number of details are now out in the open.

According to the OnePlus 3 ad, the phone has been slapped with a Rs 27999 price tag. If accurate, the cost makes it more expensive than its predecessor’s initial retail value and pushes it close to high-end territory. For that much, buyers are apparently set to get a whopping 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal space.

They’ll also get to take advantage of the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 820 processor for their day-to-day operations. The ad also mentions that the OnePlus 3 houses a 16MP front camera and an 8MP back snapper. This is in all likelihood a misprint, since rumors so far have indicated the opposite arrangement.

Going by the ad, the future OnePlus device will carry an Optic AMOLED screen of unknown dimensions and feature a fingerprint sensor embedded within its home button. The scanner supposedly unlocks the phone within 0.2 seconds. Other notable aspects mentioned in the advertisement include Smart Capture and Dash Charge.

The OnePlus 3 will also be sold with an Idea double data offer, a Saavn Pro subscription, Rs 500 worth of Kindle books, and Accidental Damage Protection courtesy OnePlus Care.
