OnePlus 2 invites up for grabs via AirAsia India flights

Invites for the OnePlus 2 are all set to be given out during AirAsia India flights, the latest scheme the company has come up with to distribute it to potential customers. The winners of the contest will be decided via a lucky draw.

Over 1000 invites for the OnePlus 2 are up for grabs. Anyone who buys a ticket between September 30 and October 9 are eligible to participate. The flights they book must take place in the travel period of October 10 to 20. AirAsia India currently offers the choice of 10 destinations namely Goa, Jaipur, Chandigarh, Bengaluru, Vizag, New Delhi, Kochi, Guwahati, Imphal and Pune.

The winners get the co-branded physical invite during the flight. Some people even stand a chance to score the OnePlus 2 itself through select flights. This new collaboration with AirAsia is supposed to part of the China-based brand’s renewed push towards providing more invites to its India fans.

The device is also set to be available in an open sale for an hour sometime soon. The event is apparently meant to be seen as an apology to customers, as shipments for the OnePlus handset have been delayed. However, the occasion is not meant for Indian consumers. They’ll have to obtain invites through the various other schemes the manufacturer has dreamed up to offer it.

One such initiative is its partnership with Airtel, where people can visit the telecom operator’s stores to get a physical feel of the OnePlus 2. Invites are on offer too, and will be handed out on a first-come first-serve basis. The project is currently only valid in Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai as of now, with more 4G-ready cities to be added soon.

The OnePlus 2 is priced at Rs 24999 and can be bought exclusively through Amazon. AirAsia India flights can be booked through its Android or iOS app, website and mobile portal.
