Future and current owners of the OnePlus 2 can now carry the handset within a new cover made out of pure leather. The brand has dubbed the new accessory the Hard Graft Wild Phone Case and slapped a $99.99 price tag on it, which translates to roughly Rs 6650.
It’s the first leather case offered by the company. So far, it has sold StyleSwap covers for the OnePlus 2 composed of materials such as Kevlar, Bamboo, Black Apricot and Rosewood. Each retails for Rs 1699, so the new casing is a considerably steep rise over the others. It hasn’t been launched in India yet though, so the final cost may be higher or lower.
The cover has been manufactured by accessory designer Hard Graft. It’s made of genuine Tuscan leather and has the company’s signature ash grey washed and traditionally tanned look. The case has two slim pockets inside it, capable of storing up to 4 cards. OnePlus claims the material gets softer with age and the wool lining prevents scratches and fingerprints from appearing on the screen.

The Chinese company recently announced it was putting the OnePlus 2 on open sale by the end of September or early October. The hour-long occasion is a sort of apology to fans from the brand’s co-founder, Carl Pei, for the delay in shipping units of the phone. Sadly, the event does not apply to Indian consumers, who still have to obtain an invite in order to buy the device.
