OnePlus 2 gets cheaper, now selling at Rs 22999

The OnePlus 2 has gotten a price cut worth Rs 2000 for both its 16GB and 64GB models. The reduction comes 7 months after the latter version’s arrival in India. The lower capacity variant was launched in the country just 2 months ago.

Accordingly, the 64GB OnePlus 2 is now available at Rs 22999 and the 16GB one retails for Rs 20999. The two are still selling exclusively via Amazon India in an open sale, the company having gotten rid of the pesky invite system a few months ago. The official reason given for the new cost is a combination of timing and scale.

OnePlus has supposedly increased its operations enough to supply the handset at a lesser value than before. Digging deeper into the speculation side of things, it’s possible the manufacturer has dropped the cost in preparation for the arrival of the OnePlus 3. Carl Pei, the brand’s co-founder, had confirmed that the upcoming flagship would come out by June in an interview with CNET.
