The Google I/O event has not just treated Android, but iOS as well, going by the release of the official Chrome for iPhone and iPad app. The Chrome browser has made its mark on desktops and the mobile version is tailored to proffer a similar experience on iDevices.

Those who can’t feel satisfied without a host of tabs at their disposal may conveniently stick to their usual pursuits. Switching between tabs should not be a concern either as swipes from edge to edge or fanning them is bound to work, depending on the gadget in hand. The utility shows off a streamlined interface, while simple functions seen in the desktop version such as Find in Page to spot specific words stay right in place.

“The Chrome Team is excited to announce the release of Chrome for iPhone and iPad. Based on Chrome 19.0.1084.52, Chrome for iOS (19.0.1084.60) brings an all new browsing experience to your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch (requires iOS 4.3 or later) and is now available for download,” states a post on the official Google Chrome Releases blog.

Users can search and navigate from the box in which the concerned term is hit out. As the words are typed, dynamic results appear on the screen to make the process of hunting down stuff a breeze. To meld the saved bookmarks, omnibox data and passwords with the concerned iOS device, users need to sign into Chrome. Pages browsed on the desktop version can be ported to the concerned handset or tablet with just a tap and perused even while offline. Those interested in surfing privately may access the Incognito mode which does not save browsing history.
