Nuance Mobile T9 and XT9 text input solution added to LG mobile line-up

LG Nuance logoNuance Communications extended its association with LG Electronics by shipping its T9 and XT9 predictive text input products for LG’s modern and growing portfolio of mobile phones. T9 and XT9 are predictive text software applications that would make sending and typing text messages and emails trouble-free. In addition users can quickly type URLs using standard and touch screen 12-key and QWERTY keypads.

With this agreement LG provides Nuance’s T9 and XT9 to a wider base of customers across the globe. T9 and XT9 services can be availed over a broad spectrum of devices comprising of lower end feature phones to high end smart phones. The company provides an extensive language support of over 80 languages and dialects worldwide which include Chinese PTI (Phrasal Text Input) and SBI (Sentence Based Input), and Indic languages such as Hinglish. This would help LG provide an impetus to the expansion of predictive text services in budding mobile markets like China and India.

T9 and XT9 permit users to explore umpteen messaging capabilities of the phone. Swapping between input modes and jockeying between numbers, letters, symbols and languages is made possible. This technology allows users to get rid of common misspellings that occur due to small hard and touchscreen QWERTY keyboards. It also permits users to enter URLs on phones comprising of HTML Web browser.

T9 and XT9 are the components of Nuance’s broad mobile portfolio. In synchronization with the Nuance’s speech, the predictive text seem to change the outlook of consumers towards sending text messages, emails, placing calls, and accessing the mobile Web for information, directions, music and much more.
