Nokia Store for Symbian and Series 40 gets a beta revamp

The Nokia Store now has some beta upgrades for the Finnish company’s handsets operating on the Symbian as well as Series 40 platforms. Open to all early adopters, this release is being made available through Nokia Beta Labs.

While Series 40 is the platform for feature phones, Symbian is known to be the Finnish manufacturer’s OS used exclusively for its smartphones. For the former OS, users can grab the Nokia Store client for Series 40 overhaul from Beta Labs, which will work as a preview for the new version. It will primarily include fresh features like search history view, application updates and publisher information. This is soon expected to be introduced as the default version for touch-and-type devices running Series 40.

The company has released the Nokia Store QML client for its Symbian and Nokia Belle smartphones. This revision is anticipated to bring forth enhanced responsiveness to the Store, especially when downloading large files. Apart from application updates, some bugs are also expected to be taken care of. The company conveys that the move is being executed with an aim to deliver a unified experience on low-end and high-end gadgets.

The Nokia Store beta upgrade for Symbian and Series 40 can be downloaded through Nokia Beta Labs. There is no word about its final release as yet.
