Nokia Siemens and RadioFrame to cooperate on 3G Femto Home Access Solution

Nokia Siemens and RadioFrame logo Nokia Siemens Networks and RadioFrame Networks, a worldwide provider of femtocell products, have joined hands for assistance on 3G Femto Home Access Solutions. RadioFrame has to offers its OmniRadio femtocell solutions, conforming to Nokia Siemens’s open architecture.

Developed for 3G operators who want to expand their coverage and service offerings, this solution has the capability to enhance indoor 3G coverage and quality for consumers. Femto Gateway from Nokia Siemens and OmniRadio customer premises equipment (CPE) from RadioFrame are able to ensure operates to reduce costs, increase ARPU with service bundling and offload the macro network.

Nokia Siemens Network would provide its Femto Gateway along with other required services, whereas the RadioFrame Network is expected to deliver the Femto CPE directly to operators.

Femto cells are small cellular access point, originally called an Access Point Base Station, which offers advanced coverage in residential environments. It furthers provides fixed-mobile convergence and other services like IPTV. The Femto Home Access solution was launched in July this year that introduced open interface that boosted the femtocell ecosystem and allowed the operators to improve 3G service and coverage.
