Nokia Motion Monitor app goes live for the Lumia 1520

A new application called Nokia Motion Monitor has been released for the Windows Phone 8-based Lumia 1520 smartphone and is currently in beta testing stage. As the name clearly suggests, it is meant for tracking all types of physical activities including walking.

It takes a leaf out of all the various fitness applications available for Android and iOS gadgets and gives Windows Phone users a chance to track their fitness levels. There’s a timeline which keeps a record of all your daily activities and lets you take a look at them as and when you like. Details such as the time at which you carried out the activity, its intensity and even your total step count will be available for your perusal.

You can choose different views. The Events view keeps tabs on your motion and summaries of a particular day, whereas you can see Week and Month views to find out a certain pattern in your daily physical activities. And all that you are required to do to document all the data is carry your phone along at all times.

You don’t have to worry about the battery usage as it consumes little power while recording activities, claim the developers. It continuously works in the background so as to not miss even a single step. And in case you want quick access to all your data, change the settings in order to get it on your glance screen, lock screen or on a live tile.

The Nokia Motion Monitor app’s beta version is available only for the high-end Lumia 1520 through the official Windows Phone store.
