Nokia Lumia 525 launched without any fanfare, India availability under wraps

The Nokia Lumia 525 smartphone has leaked a few times in the past and now the Finnish manufacturer has put an end to all the speculations by launching the device. It falls in the mid-range category and is pretty similar to its predecessor, the Lumia 520 in terms of looks as well as specifications. Availability details are not known as of now, but we are expecting it to enter India by December end or early January.

There are very few differences between the Lumia 525 and the Lumia 520 and one of the major ones is that the former comes loaded with the Lumia Black update. The Windows Phone 8-based gadget also has 1GB of RAM which will make it compatible with a horde of games from the app store that do not play good with the 520’s 512MB RAM.

On the front panel, you will find a 4-inch multi-touch display of 800 x 480p resolution, while the rear side plays host to a 5MP camera. Making video calls with this device will not be possible as it lacks a front-facing snapper. Moreover, the Microsoft-certified phone acquires steam from a 1GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor and lets you store your digital content on its 8GB onboard memory. This can be expanded by up to 64GB and every unit brings 7GB of SkyDrive storage, free of charge.

Engadget reports that the Nokia Lumia 525 has been unveiled in China by a couple of carriers and they have priced it at 1,099 Yuan which is approximately Rs 11,250. It should come soon to India.
