Nokia Listings beta application arrives for the Indian audiences

Nokia Beta Listings

A lot of businesses are conducted over mobile devices with virtually everyone hooked on to getting work done when on the move. Nokia introduces a new service for Indian customers along these lines in the form of the Nokia Listings application. Currently in the beta phase, the service is a local market place where users can invent and operate new businesses through a simple mobile client interface.

Presently available in India, the application works for the average emerging market utilizing the Series 40 handsets. According to Nokia Beta Labs, it is claimed that in emerging markets around a majority of hiring and consumer-to-consumer transactions like apartment rentals are conducted via word of mouth or middlemen who charge huge commissions for their services. Users can further communicate via SMS if they own a simple feature phone and experience the digital marketplace even without GPRS connections.

Furthermore, users can search and post job opportunities, buy or sell items and search for service providers like plumbers, architects, lawyers and more in their preferred locality. Besides, there is no registration required as the listings are geo-coded so that users can easily find the services nearest to their locations. Other than sending SMSs, they can even call the applicant.

With Java support, the service is presently available to a limited set of users and soon will be extending all over India.
