Nokia introduces Microsoft ActiveSync for smartphones

Nokia,Microsoft,ActiveSyncAll Nokia users can now gear up to add Microsoft email function to their smartphones. A recent announcement by the world’s largest manufacturer of mobile phones reveals the incorporation of Microsoft Exchange’s ActiveSync, a move that will help organize your mobile life.

“We take corporate and IT security policies seriously, and a comparison study showed that the device management and security policies for devices such as the Nokia E-series are robust. This should give business heads and IT managers greater confidence when choosing between device brands to mobilize their workforce,” mentioned, Anssi Vanjoki, Executive Vice President, Markets, Nokia,

Nokia brings the email system to as many as 80 million S60 3rd edition handsets. The deal will enable mobile professionals to use Mail for Exchange to push corporate e-mail, calendar, tasks, contact information and much more. Corporates that use Exchange should be able to set up Mail for free on most Nokia handsets in many secure ways. Setting up the smartphone is really simple. All you have to do is enter the email address, password, domain and usernames.

The service will also be available for all future versions of the E-series corporate phones along with Nokia’s N-series multimedia mobile devices.

Presently 43 models with the third edition of Nokia’s S60 operating software should avail of Microsoft’s Mail for Exchange e-mail service.
