Due to the growing adoption of mobile phones in emerging markets, users are increasingly employing their feature handsets as access points to browse the web. Nokia India has announced a free data download offer on its entry level device, the C1-01.
In partnership with Airtel, the Nokia C1-01 handset will be offered to customers clubbed with free data downloads up to 50MB. Users will be able effortlessly download over 35 videos of their favorite Bollywood songs, up to 20 cricket matches as well as 20 varied wallpapers and animations for embellishing the phone’s screen.

Nokia is focusing on the democratization and massification of internet, especially in affordable devices tailored for customers in emerging markets. We are excited to introduce a unique offer for our entry consumers, enhancing their experience and helping them do more with their phones,” expressed Viral Oza, Head Marketing, Nokia India.
The phone packs in support for memory which is expandable by up to 32GB for satiating users’ data hoarding needs. The stored multimedia content like images, videos and music can be easily shared with other devices via MMS, Bluetooth connectivity and the microUSB port. Nokia is also offering a one month free access to Ovi Life Tools platform with this handset.
The Nokia C1-01 can be picked up by shelling out Rs. 2,789 and the free data download offer will be valid only during the first month of purchase.
