Claiming to tow along up to 90% data compression, the Nokia Browser 2.0 update is now available for all devices from the Finland based company, including the Asha lineup and Series 40 phones. Given its main purpose of serving users with a surfing experience similar to the desktop, the upgrade should go a step further in this direction.

With the refreshed Download Manager onboard, users of the app can store videos, images or music on a memory card while they are still browsing. The software brings with it a host of improvements that facilitate faster sharing and exploring of content. A refined user interface that’s touted to be more intuitive arrives with the redesigned app. It provides one-step access to the most popular local sites right on the home page.

Moreover, switching between the web and text messages should not be too much trouble, as the application supports multitasking. Social butterflies can readily post any domain through sites like Twitter or Facebook in the browser itself. Users can also punch in a comment by directly using the options menu. For those in China, the same is applicable for social networking sites like RenRen and Sina Weibo.

With the software presently accommodating roughly 10,000 Web Apps, locating and getting started with a favored application is expected to be simple enough.
