Nokia and ARC Transistance to deliver Real Time Traffic

Nokia Maps We all hate getting caught up in traffic. Wouldn’t it be great if someone constantly keeps us informed about the traffic? That would help us change the route which in turn will save time and take us quickly to our destination. Well, this dream will very soon turn into reality with the conscious effort made by Nokia and ARC Transistance. Nokia, the world leader in producing range of mobile devices with services and software, and ARC Transistance, leading network of motoring clubs and organizations in Europe announced that they are working together to provide Real Time Traffic Information to users of Nokia mobile devices. This service will be offered as a premium one to its Nokia Maps 2.0 and for the future versions of Nokia Maps. Further, GPS (Global Positioning System), providing the 3D positions can turn the Nokia devices into personal navigation systems. Arc Transistance and Nokia can thus save precious time for commuters by informing them about the traffic, construction or other road hazards that could affect their journey.

The application dynamically re-routes during navigation and provides a faster route as soon as Nokia Maps receives the road updates from ARC Transistance. This is a significant stage for Nokia Maps, which makes navigation an even more compelling experience for Nokia device owners. Nokia Maps can turn your mobile device into local mapping and routing engine with a navigation option. You need to load the maps and location-aware content once and it will always be available on the device.

Upgrading to GPS (Global Positioning System) navigation will help turn your mobile into a personal powerful device. If you don’t have a built-in GPS, you can use an external GPS Module. ARC Transistance Traffic Information service provides the real time road and traffic conditions of more than 16 countries in Europe and thus proves to be a routing guide and navigation expert to its customers.

The service for Navigation needs to be purchased prior to use. It’s valid for selected regions and period of time with three pricing categories namely A, B, C. You can subscribe for a week, a month and a year, for category A its EUR 6.49, EUR 7.99 and EUR 59.99 respectively. EUR 7.49, EUR 8.99 and EUR 69.99 for category B and for category C its EUR 8.99, EUR 9.99 and EUR 89.99 respectively.

Together they can do wonders by controlling the traffic flow and help in a smooth and quick journey.
