For those who aren’t aware, the new Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 smartphones arrive with enhanced touch input which allows users to access the screen with gloves on, courtesy of Synaptics ClearPad Series 3. The company has also announced a number of applications for the above mentioned handsets along with the Nokia Music app for the US.

The new touch development enables users to operate the screen even with their fingernails. The sensing tool is also said to provide quick refresh speeds with up to 10 finger full-time tracking. Apart from this, the Finish manufacturer has incorporated the SignalClarity technology to improve both, the environmental and electrical noise strength as well as enhanced accuracy and finger separation.

“With Synaptics’ continuous innovation on touch, we are able to pioneer new technologies that improve the smartphone user experience,” remarked Kevin Shields, senior vice president, Smart Devices, Nokia. “Nokia has been a leader in display technology, and we are setting a new standard with Super Sensitive Touch technology on the Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820.”

The company has introduced the Nokia Music application exclusively in the US to permit access to worldwide music. With the help of this tool, users can stream tracks online, and access music even when offline as well as create personal sound records via the Create function. There is a Gig Finder option that locates live concerts and shows taking place within a city. The software is available for download on the Lumia 900 and Lumia 710 via the Marketplace.

Nokia has launched a number of applications that are to come pre-loaded on the latest Lumia handsets. One amongst them is the Angry Birds Roost game that’s exclusive for these phones for a period of 3 months. It will tag along the ‘Bird Cam’ feature and a host of wallpapers and wide Live Tiles from the series. Other than that, apps like Bloomberg Hub, Style Saint, Groupon, YouSendIt, Michelin and The World of Red Bull are included as well.

To get a taste of the Synaptics ClearPad Series 3 technology and the above mentioned applications, potential users will have to wait for the Nokia Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 smartphone to hits stores. And that’s scheduled for later this year. Others can download the Nokia Music app from the Marketplace.
