Nokia 5250Previously, we had penned a post on the sightings of the Nokia 5250. Nokia Conversations has finally declared the Nokia 5250 as ‘officially launched’. Audiophiles might want to check out this trendy device as it features a music player on its homescreen and a free copy of the much popular Guitar Hero 5 Mobile.

This beauty sports a 2.8 TFT touchscreen featuring a resolution of 640 x 360 pixels and a 16:9 aspect ratio. Mobile enthusiasts can pile up on songs with Ovi Music Unlimited which are available in select stores. It has an on board memory of 51MB that can be expanded up to 16GB with a microSD card. Music aficionados can jive to their own list of songs, as well as the integrated FM radio or else they can even download tracks from Ovi Music. Loaded with a 2 megapixel camera, the device embeds Ovi Share which enables social networking buffs to upload their images on to the web.

Running on Symbian^1 OS, the Nokia 5250 provides users with GPRS connectivity for data and GSM/EDGE communications over four bands. The homescreen displays favorite contacts and a quick access to MySpace, Facebook and others. Handset owners can log-in to several email accounts like Gmail, Yahoo! Mail and Ovi Mail, along with IM accounts. The Ovi Store can be accessed through this mobile phone for additional applications. It boasts of a battery life lasting up to 24 hours of non-stop music, 7 hours of talktime and 18 days of standby.

The handset tips the scale at 104 x 49 x 14 mm. Couple of days back this handset had made it to the company’s official Facebook page and now the current images displayed by the blog, seems to showcase the phone dressed in purple, white, blue and black. Without operator subsidies and taxes, the enticing Nokia 5250 sports a retail tag of €115 and is slated to hit the streets by the fourth quarter.
