Nokia 207, 208 arriving in Q3 2013, 3.5G-enabled phones start at $68

The Nokia 207 and its sibling 208 that will be made available in single and dual SIM versions have been announced and their release date is likely to fall sometime in the third quarter of this year. All three devices are perfectly compatible with 3.5G HSPA networks and come pre-loaded with the data compressing Nokia Xpress browser.

Although these gadgets fall in the affordable category, they are not basic, what with their abilities to offer web access, stream YouTube videos and allow social networking via pre-loaded apps like Facebook and Twitter. The only difference between the Nokia 208 and 207 is that the former has a camera and dual SIM slots, while the latter is devoid of a snapper and arrives as a single SIM variant only.

Color Options

The camera phone borrows a few elements from the 301 device and brings attributes like panorama, sequential shots and self-portrait with voice prompts amongst others. Its model featuring two SIM card bays has been deployed with Easy Swap technology too. This handset tips the scales at just a little less than 100 grams.

All the aforementioned phones are encased in candy bar exteriors measuring 114.2 x 50.9 x 12.8 millimeters, complete with a 2.4-inch QVGA screen. Inherently drenched in shades of white, yellow, cyan, red and black, the gadgets adopting a two-piece cup-style design have switchable back covers and a splash-proof alphanumeric keyboard.

Their 256MB of flash memory can easily be expanded by up to 32GB using a microSD card. Apart from Bluetooth, customers have the option of sharing videos and images with compatible devices via Slam too. The handsets even support Mail for Exchange and are pre-installed with the Transfer app to bring contacts from Windows Phone 8 and select Android smartphones.

A 1020mAh battery rests under the hood to power up the phones for a very long time. The two single SIM variants can be expected to cough up talk time of about 12 hours and standby time of over a month when used in the 2G mode on a single charge.
