Westone 4 R-Series Earphones

The latest in the lineup of audio accessories for mobile phone users’ consideration are the Westone 4R quad-drive earphones tipped at a price point that we don’t bump into quite often for this sort of gear. The company claims that their new series reels out enhanced performance and delivers high quality audio.

These R-series earphones drop in with inline volume control, a 1/8 to 1/4 adapter and a premium fit kit consisting of multiple foam and silicone ear tips. The collection features a special four driver balanced armature design along with exclusive Acoustic Symmetry.

The device offers a tight tolerance of +/- 2dB between the earpieces, while the integrated Acoustic Symmetry technology is said to improve the audiophile grade in-ear system. The peripheral has a sensitivity of 118dB at 1mW and each earbud possesses low frequency drivers to go with a single driver apiece for the mids and highs.

The R-series earphones come equipped with the new Epic removable cable. This tensile wire is believed to be high in strength and durability while delivering low resistance. It has been designed with aramid fiber that lets users replace damaged cables as well as add the forthcoming Epic Mics smartphone interface cable.

The audio devices will arrive accompanied by a protective case crafted out of high-impact polymer, engineered specially for porting around the earphones. The case features a secure foam interior and has been built with a weather resistant design in mind.

The Westone 4R quad-driver earphones should start shipping from the fourth quarter of this year and they will be available for a price of $499.
