The latest version of Twitter, which was first unveiled in the month of December last year, has now been made available to all social butterflies. It can be accessed on mobile phones through mobile web, Twitter for Android and Twitter for iPhone applications.
A recent post on the official Twitter blog revealed details about this development and also gave a sneak peek at the new features we can expect to witness through this fresh edition of the microblogging website. Firstly, the interface design has undergone a change to make it uniform throughout the mobile web and smartphone applications as well as the internet. This inclusion also offers a more simplified user experience, with significant options displayed clearly at the forefront.
With this new version, when users click on a particular tweet, it will expand to show related photos, videos, favorites, retweets, and other such information. These stretched out posts can be collapsed back instantly by pressing the shortcut L key. Furthermore, tweets can also be embedded by simply copying and pasting the code provided for the same.
Along with this, Connect and Discover are two new attributes the SNS will now sport. The former is essentially meant to continue conversations by means of tweets. Through this, users can view which of their tweets have been marked as favorite or retweeted, and by whom, while also seeing if any particular member has mentioned the account holder. On the other hand, Discover opens up results reflecting user interests, customized by means of the current location and what is being followed as well as recent trends.
The new Twitter version is now available through all concerned sources which include mobile phones and tablets.
