The Google Play store now boasts of a refreshed version of the Spotify app for Android. This music streaming utility’s complete interface has been tweaked for melding it with the Android 4.0 flavor.

First off, a slide-out navigation attribute has been played out and some social features have dropped in for letting users check out their friends’ profiles while listening to music. As an added enticement, accompanying images will be displayed in high resolution on the screen while the concerned tracks are playing.

Artists relevant to a particular band or album are also listed out for expanding the track options. Considering it’s a musical app we’re talking about, the utility is touted to render 320kbps audio quality. The entire layout has been redesigned to make for a fast experience. Other enhancements include a play queue and folder support for added convenience.

Gustav Södertröm, VP Products at Spotify, expressed, “For all our Android users, this Spotify update is a huge leap forward. We’ve rebuilt it from top to bottom, making it faster, slicker and much better looking. The feedback we got from the preview we released a few weeks back was really positive. We wanted to give our users something special – we really hope you like it.”
