New Sony Headphones and Headsets available with digital noise cancelling feature

Sony MDR-NC200D HeadphoneSony augments its headset and headphones portfolio with an all-new collection of audio peripherals. The MDR-NC200D and MDR-NC100D make up its digital noise canceling range. The DR-EX14VP and DR-XB23VP are introduced for smartphone users while DR-XB22iP, DR-EX61iP, DR-ZX701iP are released specifically for Apple users. The MDR-NC200D and MDR-NC100D include the company’s very own artificial intelligence noise canceling technology which selects an optimum noise canceling mode based on the environment.

The MDR-NC200D headphones with a detachable audio cable have a long AAA battery life of 22 hours, benefiting music-lovers, who are constantly on the move. Its three modes eliminate noise when on airplanes, trains and in offices. A monitor button activates and deactivates its noise-cancelling features. Complete with a 40mm driver to provide wide frequency response, it operates even when its noise cancellation feature is turned off.

The MDR-NC100D in-ear headsets include 13.5mm drivers that provide good audio even when on the move. It’s packed with three sizes of noise isolation earbuds that allow for reduction of ambient noise. Both these compact models produce noise cancellation up to 98.2%, claims Sony. These headphones come with a semi-hard carrying case, making it convenient to carry around.

DR-EX14VP and DR-XB23VP comprise in-line remote controls and microphones that can adjust volume, play/pause audio and answer/end calls. These in-ear headsets are supplied with an extension cable making them compatible to almost all smartphones in the industry. They are packed with three sizes of hybrid silicone earbuds for a good fit. The EX14VP has a more traditional in-ear design while the DR-XB23VP features an angled earbud structure coupled with powerful bass reproduction. The latter comes dipped in three colors namely black, and violet, giving it a stylish appeal.

The DR-XB22iP, DR-EX61iP DR-ZX701iP headsets are compatible with the iPod, the iPhone and the iPad. Just like the smartphone headsets, these include an in-line remote and microphone. The DR-EX61iP sports an elegant design and the DR-XB22iP has an in-ear design with an angled structure consisting hybrid silicone earbuds. VoiceOver is offered on enabled devices by these headsets. Accompanied by noise isolating earpads, the DR-ZX701iP over-the-head headset features 50mm drivers and allows high-power input of up to 2,000MW. The Sony headphones and headsets seem to aim at enhanced noise cancellation along with comfort, for people on-the-go.

The Sony headphones and headsets will be available at Sony stores, including online at sony.com and other authorized retailers nationwide. The Sony MDR-NC200D and MDR-NC100D headphones are offered at a price of $200 (approx. Rs.9287) and $150 (approx. Rs.6965) respectively. The DR-EX14VP and DR-EX61iP sets are priced at $40 (approx. Rs.1857) while the DR-XB23VP and DR-XB22iP retail for about $60 (approx. Rs.2786). On the other hand, the DR-ZX701iP is available for about $150 (approx. Rs.6965). The new digital noise canceling models are available from this month and the headset models can be purchased in October.
