New Asus ZenFone Max hits India with better specs, more colors at Rs 9999

The updated Asus ZenFone Max has made its way to India and is now selling exclusively via e-commerce site Flipkart. The phone is being sold in 2 new variants which feature a number of updated specs over the original model.

To recall, the original 16GB Asus ZenFone Max was released in India back in January this year at Rs 9999. This unit has now gotten a price cut and is available at Rs 8999. The new-and-improved version of the handset offers 2GB of RAM at Rs 9999 and 3GB of RAM at Rs 12999. All other specs appear to be the same between the latter two.

New Asus ZenFone Max

The revamped ZenFone Max offers double the storage capacity in the form of 32GB of ROM. It’s also powered by a faster octa-core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor instead of its predecessor’s Snapdragon 410 SoC. Another welcome improvement comes via the installation of Google’s latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS.

The Asus phone’s main claim to fame is still its massive 5000mAh battery. The brand promises that it can last for up to 3 days of usage on a single charge and 38 days on standby. It also doubles up as a powerbank for other devices through a USB OTG cable.
