New application by waze Drives released for iPhone

Traffic Navigation Application

iPhone users can now commute quickly and efficiently with the information provided by a new application from waze Drives. The company has brought to light a new traffic navigation application which will offer real time information and updates regarding the traffic and roads to travelers.

The first free provider of driver-generated maps and real-time road information, waze Drivers has based its information through crowd sourcing system. Crowd sourcing means all the data will be provided from a network of drivers who are actually located on roads. They move to different places and areas and collect information in real time. Traffic information would include traffic flow, instant road updates, road blocks etc. Users will also have access to road maps and grids.

Noam Bardin, the company’s CEO commented, “This is just the start of a crowd-sourced project that will change the way drivers make their daily driving decisions. Our community of drivers contributes driving information passively via our free mobile application and all members get to enjoy the outcome, namely free turn-by-turn navigation and real-time traffic information. As in all community applications, the more users drive with our app, the better the map and traffic data become for all. We invite anyone with an iPhone to join the revolution and help us build the world’s largest community of drivers.”

Through a GPS enabled smartphone, users can send instant updates to the application and also inform other users about the traffic flow. That means all the information provided by the application is based on the real-time updates given by a group of travelers. It also tracks the driving speed of the commuter and analyzes the traffic flow accordingly.

The application is constantly posted about the road grid, traffic information, suggested driving directions, road changes, traffic flow and more. So iPhone users can stay posted and also take a more active role by sending updates to others as well.

iPhone users can currently download the application for free via the iTunes App Store.
