Navigon innovates with MobileNavigator App for Android

Navigon Logo Navigon augments the convenience level by offering cutting-edge navigation technology on several mobile phone platforms. The company has allured users with its newest MobileNavigator app for the enthralling Android platform. The solution bundles together various interesting and innovative features.

Reality Scanner uses the device’s integrated camera, positioning, compass components and the company’s wide POI database to put forth POI icons intuitively on the camera’s photo. Owners can quickly shoot and identify POIs near a specific location. The app also offers features like Reality View Pro, displaying photo-realistic 3D views of actual road, highway/interstate, signs and exits, and lane guide markers for easy driving decisions.

“For almost two decades Navigon brings preeminent navigation technology; this long standing experience enables us to deliver sophisticated navigation solutions that transform smartphones into navigation solutions comparable to standalone devices,” commented Gerhard Mayr, Navigon vice-president worldwide mobile phones and new markets. “Other than free navigation apps for the Android platform, Navigon’s app provides on-board premium maps and driving related features that go beyond providing simple directions, helping to make driving a more relaxed experience.”

Traffic Live precisely utilizes real-time data collected from around million drivers to route around traffic. Navigon MyRoutes evaluates driving habits, patterns, location and time/day, and offers about three routes accurately displayed in-map with ETA, distance and driving times. The Red Light Cameras feature alerts users with an enhanced visual warning for most red light and speed cameras.

“MobileNavigator addresses the concerns of savvy consumers who are dissatisfied with the inconsistent performance of off-board turn-by-turn navigation solutions using lower quality data that has recently entered the market. Navteq maps are a key differentiator and part of Navigon’s overall strategic vision for enabling a more sophisticated navigation experience for consumers,” remarked Jeff Mize, executive vice president, Global Sales, Navteq.

The app functions efficiently using the devices’ GPS receiver and the incorporated Navteq maps. Besides, the solution bundles together functions like Lane Assistant Pro, Speed Assistant, Text-to-Speech, Day & Night Mode, Route Planning and Direct Access to Contacts. Owners can enjoy an improved experience with 2D and 3D map view and with intuitive portrait or landscape orientation. Offering Google Local Search, the app provides users with intelligent address entry and pedestrian navigation.

The app is available in the Android Market and Google Checkout for $39.99 for two-weeks. After which, users can purchase the app for a one-time charge of $59.99.
