MTS accomplishes five lakh customer milestone in Bihar and Jharkhand

MTS Logo MTS has extended all its efforts to revive the mobile phone segment in India and last made news when they teamed up with Opera Software. The company shares that they have crossed the five lakh customer milestone in Bihar and Jharkhand.

In just a time frame of 16 months, MTS has over 4.9 lakh voice and more than 15,000 data customers. The company focuses on improving the telecom infrastructure and services in Bihar and Jharkhand. They also made a mark with a network of around 25,000 retailers across 282 towns in these two states.

M K Sachdeva, Chief Operating Officer, Bihar and Jharkhand Telecom circle, commented, “We at MTS are extremely proud to have crossed the 5 lakh customer milestone in Bihar & Jharkhand. What is significant is that this milestone has been achieved in just 16 months, thanks to the acceptance of our voice and data service. Our future plan includes crossing the 1 million voice and 30,000 data customers by Q2 2011. Additionally we also are planning to expand the retail presence of MTS from 25,000 to 40,000 outlets by Q2 2011.”

Apart from all this, the company is anticipated to extend its rural presence from about 25,000 to 30,000 by Q1 2011. MTS has consistently maintained a growth rate of ten percent in Bihar and Jharkhand as compared to three percent growth in the entire CDMA market. They have also captivated users in Jharkhand with its High Speed Mobile broadband services offering speed up to 3.1Mbps.

MTS is also expected to achieve one million voice and 30,000 customer target by Q2 2011.
