Motorola now planning to bring Moto Maker into India?

Motorola is all set to bring the Moto Maker customization program for the 2nd gen Moto X to India starting from today. This will allow users to choose the colors, finishes, cases, storage and engraving options for the phone before they buy it. The company has been hinting at the roll-out on Twitter and telling fans to watch out for a reveal on June 15.

Moto Maker is already available in the US, some areas of Latin America and Western Europe. Back in May, Motorola’s parent company Lenovo, also announced its launch in China for the Moto X 2. Even the case, band and face of the Moto 360 smartwatch can be personalized with the Moto Maker tool. So it’s possible that the same might come to India too.

Bandying about the ‘Made in America’ tagline, Motorola released Moto Maker exclusively for the US along with the Moto X handset. But the company wasn’t able to sell enough units in order to achieve economies of scale and was forced to shut down its Texas plant in Fort Worth. India being the second largest consumer of smartphones in the world, it makes sense for the mobile brand to offer users more choice here.
