Motorola Showcases W-Series Mobile Phones at CES 2008

Motorola W230 and W270 Mobile Phones

Motorola has announced two more mobile phones which are being showcased at the CES 2008 in Las Vegas. These music phones belong to the W-series of Motorola. They are the W230 and W270 mobile phones.

The Motorola’s W230 and W270 are GSM handsets with easy to use music capabilities.

The handsets also have an expandable memory card option. The users are benefited with audio clarity as they are able to hear even in noisy environments.

Stu Reed, president, Motorola Mobile Devices explained, “These new devices offer design elements, music features and outstanding battery life that consumers don’t expect to find at this price point.”

“Whether buying your first phone or trying out a music phone for the first time, these new models from Motorola are the perfect choice,” added Reed.

The features of Motorola’s W230 and W270 include:

  • A dedicated music key activates an integrated digital audio player
  • Supports MP3 and other popular formats
  • MicroSD removable memory cards up to 2GB
  • FM radio with integrated Radio Data System (RDS) which displays artist, title and type of song playing on the radio
  • Record FM radio clips to use for the phone’s alarm
  • Speakers
  • CrystalTalk technology that helps reduce background noise
  • Nine hours of talk time
  • Store up to 500 text messages and phone contacts
  • Ability to access the Web
  • The W230 comes in a slim candy bar design. The handset is available in two interchangeable faceplate color palettes licorice/silver, and titanium gray/mandarin. It has a large color display.

    The W270 provides another design option for consumers by incorporating the same features of the W230 in a sleek and affordable clam-shell design.

    The Motorola’s W230 and W270 handsets are expected to be available in the first quarter of 2008.
