Motorola Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus unveiled in India

The Motorola Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus are finally official, with the latter all set to hit Amazon India on May 18 at midnight. The phones serve as the sequel to the highly successful Moto G (3rd gen) and offer numerous upgrades over its predecessor.

Starting off with the Motorola Moto G4 Plus, the handset is the more premium variant of the two. The phone is priced at Rs 13499 for the 2GB/16GB version and Rs 14999 for the 3GB/32GB one. The device is notably the first in the series to sport a physical home button. The unit additionally doubles up as a fingerprint scanner; another first.

Motorola has also improved upon the smartphone’s photography abilities by equipping it with a 16MP rear camera which has been showered with PDAF, an aperture of f/2.0, dual-LED colour-balancing flash, and laser autofocus. It’s paired with a 5MP selfie camera fitted with a f/2.2 aperture and an 84-degree wide-angle lens.

Another major highlight of the Moto G4 Plus is its support for the brand’s TurboPower technology which allows the device to last for 6 hours after just 15 minutes of charging. The company is also touting the fact that it’s a Moto Pure phone, which means that it’ll receive guaranteed updates to Android N and O.

As for the Moto G4, the phone houses almost the same features as its enhanced sibling except for its 13MP primary snapper and lack of a physical home button or fingerprint sensor. It’s also being sold in only a 2GB/16GB memory variant. Unfortunately, the brand has not revealed the cost of the phone or when exactly it’s coming out.

Once again, the Motorola Moto G4 Plus will be sold via Amazon India starting at Rs 13499.
