Motorola Moto G4, Moto G4 Plus may come out on June 9

The Motorola Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus are all set to be announced on June 9 if a new report is to be believed. The phones have been getting leaked consistently over the past few weeks, leading to speculation that the two will be the next to come out of the brand’s stable.

Lenovo CEO Yang Yuanqing has apparently confirmed that Motorola will be launching a new phone on June 9, but failed to mention which one. He made the date official while unveiling the Zuk Z2 Pro in China, adding that the new handset would be exciting. The Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus are high on the list of upcoming phones from the brand, making them likely candidates for the event.

As per GizmoChina, the Moto G4 Plus will be an enhanced version of the Moto G4. A new render of the former was posted online by @evleaks a few days ago. The photo clearly showcases the handset’s square-shaped physical button, a feature which previous G series phones did not have.

Lenovo had previously declared that Motorola phones in 2016 would sport fingerprint sensors, so it’s likely this home button will do double duty as a fingerprint scanner. However, speculation suggests that the lower-end Moto G4 will not be blessed with one. This belief came about after a video of the phone surfaced online without a physical button.

As for specs, leakster Roland Quandt claims that the Motorola Moto G4 Plus will sport a 5.5-inch screen, 16MP camera and 16GB of ROM. The Moto G4 will supposedly contain a similar set of specs except for a 13MP snapper. The former is set to be priced at 280 Euro (approx $317 or Rs 21035) and the latter at 240 Euro (roughly $272 or Rs 18030).
