Motorola launches Moto E for Rs 6999 in India via Flipkart

Motorola rolled out the Moto E in India at Rs 6,999 or $129 today, half the price at which the 16GB Moto G was launched and it’s available for ordering on Flipkart right now. Even if you’re not into smartphones, the Motorola Moto E is probably the toughest temptation you will have to fight considering its low cost coupled with specifications to match.

The launch of the Moto E should help Motorola capture a very large market share in countries like India where smartphone penetration is very low. Rs 6999 seems to be just the right price for those upgrading from feature phones to smart devices.

Motorola hasn’t put a 720p HD touchscreen on the smartphone, choosing instead to keep the resolution on its 4.3-inch display to just 540 x 960p qHD and protecting it with a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and a splash-proof coating. A dual core chipset from Qualcomm as well as 1GB of RAM keep things up and running on the device which comes with the ‘latest Android update’ guarantee.
