Motorola is trying its best to keep its upcoming handset called Droid a secret. But despite the company’s efforts the specifications and images of this handset have been leaked, informs Engadget. The Motorola Droid is an Android-based handset that will be made available via Verizon Wireless.

The specs of this handset were leaked when Motorola accidentally displayed the product page of this handset. Reportedly, the Droid incorporates a 5 megapixel camera and runs on Android 2.0 operating system. The smartphone will also offer support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS.

The published webpage informs that the Droid will also offer a Webkit HTML 5 browser with Flash 10 from next year. The handset is powered by 550MHz processor. The 1,400mAh lithium ion battery provides up to 6.4 hours of talktime and up to 11 days of standby time. The Motorola phone measures 4.6” x 2.4” x 0.5” and weighs around 6 ounces. The other leaked features include 3.7-inch touchscreen display, 3.5mm headphone jack, Micro-USB port, and 16GB microSD card.

Well, we were just wondering if the Droid is the iPhone killer that Verizon has been talking about. Apparently, Motorola and Verizon will co-host a media event on October 28 where this handset is expected to be officially introduced.
