The Motorola Droid Bionic was finally launched yesterday after its revelation earlier this year. The company touts it to be the thinnest 4G LTE smartphone from Verizon Wireless providing download speeds of 5 to 12 Mbps and upload speeds of 2 to 5Mbps.

Supporting a dual-core 1GHz processor, 1GB RAM, the phone is powered by the Android Gingerbread. It sports a 4.3 inch qHD screen of Corning Gorilla Glass and is also embedded with a front facing camera for video calls. The rear side carries an 8MP camera having 1080p HD video capturing capabilities. The smartphone packs in a 16GB microSD card extendable up to 32GB.

The ZumoCast application by Droid allows data transfer between PCs and the handset via remote access. Whereas the Webtop application facilitates multitasking and allows for beaming its Firefox web browser 4.0, email or documents on to a TV or monitor. Along with this, Adobe Flash and HTML 5 enhance Bionic’s web browsing potential. Plus, the Motoprint app allows printing via Wi-Fi enabled printers.

Motorola is making quite a number of accessories available for Droid Bionic users. The Lapdock for $299.97 and HD Station at $99.99 are the added frills on offer. An adapter for the Webtop application can be bought at $29.99 and the Vehicle Navigation and Battery Dock can be availed for $39.99 and $49.99 respectively.

The Motorola Droid Bionic is available in Verizon Wireless communication stores and online at Verizonwireless.com for $299.99 with a two-year customer agreement.
