Motorola Admiral now available on Sprint

Motorola Admiral Posing as the first Android smartphone to employ 3G powered Sprint Direct Connect push-to-talk services and bear out rugged environments, the Motorola Admiral is here. Running on Android Gingerbread, the handset features a 5MP camera with 720p HD video capture, flash and 4x zoom.

Powered by a 1.2GHz processor, this Motorola smartphone utilizes Sprint’s 3G network to provide the push-to-talk capabilities of Sprint Direct Connect. It comes equipped with 4GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 32GB via the microSD card slot. Embedded with a 3.1-inch VGA touchscreen display and a QWERTY keyboard, the device features scratch-proof Corning Gorilla glass on its exterior.

We know our customers will appreciate this tough Android-powered smartphone that combines 3G data speeds with push-to-talk capabilities. It is designed to offer mobile professionals instant communications and mobile broadband data access when it matters most while being able to withstand the toughest environments.”

The Admiral has been engineered to meet Military Standard 810G for dust, shock, vibration, solar radiation, low pressure and high and low temperatures. It comes with various Google mobile services such as Google Maps, Google Talk, Gmail, Google Voice and YouTube. This smartphone is capable of functioning as a 3G mobile hotspot and supporting up to five Wi-Fi enabled devices at the same time.

The Motorola Admiral can be ordered at Sprint stores for a price of $99.99 with a new line or eligible upgrade and two-year service agreement following a $50 mail-in rebate. It will start retailing in stores from November 13.
