Microsoft’s Nokia 215 dual SIM smartphone available for less than Rs 2149

Microsoft released the Nokia 215 dual SIM phone in India through its official online store for Rs 2149 only last month. The handset has now hit availability through other e-commerce sites like eBay, Amazon and Flipkart, though the last two retailers we’ve mentioned don’t seem to have got the memo on the price and have pegged it at Rs 2174 and Rs 2299, respectively.

On the other hand, eBay India hosts a few listings offering the Nokia 215 at less than its original cost. One vendor on the site is selling it for as low as Rs 2099. The device incorporates an old fashioned keyboard, giving anyone who has a problem with touchscreens an alternate option. Its highlight is the fact that it’s Internet-ready in spite of having a non-touch display, of course.

iPhone vs Nokia

Microsoft is busy working on cheap Lumia optios to push its very own Windows Phone OS to mass audiences, and the launch of the last of the Nokia handsets was probably just on its spring cleaning to-do list. In emerging markets including India, feature phones are luckily not dead yet.

What’s more, the Nokia 215 should make a good backup device considering its claims of delivering almost 20 hours of talk time. Since most of us carry around smartphones which may not be able to beat that sort of battery life, we can see why it offers a reasonable argument in its favor.
